Power-Net Web Mail Tutorial

To use our powerful new web-based email service, start by going to www.power-net.net.

Enter your user name, as username@power-net.net, and password in the Login box:

Encrypted Login will give you an added level of security when logging in.  It will encrypt your password before it is sent to our server for authentication.

At the main screen, you’ll be able to review your email at a glance. The left panel is your folder list.

The ( ) after each folder name tells you how many emails you have in that folder. You may see, for example, (2,1) next to Inbox. This means you have 2 messages in the Inbox, of which 1 is unread.

You can create new folders by typing in the name of the folder and clicking the Add button. You can also Modify (rename) or Delete folders by selecting the folder and then clicking on the Modify or Delete button. Please note, the folders shown in this tutorial may not all appear on your list because this is a demonstration account and also that when you delete a folder all email messages stored in that folder will also be deleted

Click on any folder name to view the contents listed in the top left panel. The current folder will be highlighted in bold in your folder list.

Click on the “?” in the top right corner to access our easy to read support documents.

Along the top edge of your main screen is a menu bar.

1. Click on “Get Messages” to check for new messages, or to return to your Inbox at any time.

2. Select “New Message” to compose a new message.

3. Choose “Search” to find a particular email by keyword, sender, date, or other parameters?

Note the down arrow to the right of “Book,” which drops down a list of the Address Book options available to you, such as add address, add group, private address book, global address book, groups, import contacts, it’s basically a quick way to get to address book functions/features.

5. Pick “Calendar” to access an online calendar to schedule appointments, reminders, etc. Again, you can click on the down arrow to the right of “Calendar” for quicker access to the options available to you.

6. Choose “Settings” to access your account settings and set your preferences. You can change the look of your web mail page, and personalize it to suit your needs.

7. This box shows your account quota. The % shows how much storage you are using compared to the amount you have available. This sample account has 250 MB available, but Power-Net’s default is 10 MB unless you upgrade your account’s storage capacity with us.
